Tile and grout alone do not make a terrace watertight. Substrate, falls, drainage, water protection, bonding, joints and slip performance must form one coordinated system.

Frequently asked questions about outdoor terraces

Does grout waterproof a terrace?

Not by itself. Water protection depends on the complete construction detail and continuous system beneath and around the finish, including junctions and drains.

Can I form the falls with tile adhesive?

Do not assume so. Falls and levels are formed with layers and products intended for that purpose; adhesive must remain within its documented thickness and field of use.

Which document controls an outdoor terrace?

Several levels apply: building regulation, project documents, the installation standard applicable in Spain or France and each product's current documentation. The precise location and system determine their roles.
